1. rainbow brite.

    Saturday, August 6

    rainbow pancakes, anyone?

    rachel and i made these puppies on friday morning and had a mighty fine time doing it! we made a half batch of batter {because we knew we would eat all of them if we made a whole...} and still managed to make six different colors of pancakes. that involved about four spoonfuls of batter in each color. still cute! it inspired us to throw a rainbow party with rainbow cupcakes and balloons and soda in every color.

  2. grilled deliciousness.

    Thursday, August 4

    i love grilled cheese sandwiches.

    like, a lot. i could eat one every day of my life. seriously.

    i love this one in particular. it's got jarlesberg and provelone cheeses, tomato slices, and fresh basil leaves. i doctored our boring white bread with a bit of butter, parmesan, and garlic powder.

    HOLY MAMA it was good.

    nothing beats enjoying a delicious sandwich while listening to good music mixed with the sound of rain outside. until the rain turns into hail and you dash outside to rescue the pillows on the porch furniture from a soggy death.

    it was still delicious.

  3. okay. i am so in love with this kid. i've watched every single one of his videos! this one in particular has been viewed at least ten times by yours truly. he always mentions something about how girls won't date him, and i'm clueless as to why! he's in drama, he loves harry potter, he got on the glee project, he's an editing genius, he's SO funny, and did i mention he's kinda cute?

    i would date you, jon cozart.

  4. doodle wednesday.

    Wednesday, August 3

    in keeping with my zombie/halloween theme from yesterday, here are a couple monster high-inspired doodles i've done this summer. {monster high, you say? what on earth is that? well, just click here and the magical world that is creepy barbie dolls made for kids but loved by me will unfold before you!}

    since i don't color my drawings, like, ever, {which i probably should work on. but color and i are not very good friends.} i should explain that this first girl is actually green. she's a goblin! hence the ears. and the, uh, green skin.

    and this one is named emma allie poe. she's the daughter of edgar allen poe, because who else is creepier than poe?! {for those of you who are not enrolled in monster high, all of the dolls are daughters of some classic horror story character, like frankenstein or dracula or the creature from the black lagoon.}

    yes, i know i'm a total nerd. and yes, i do really really want one of these dolls for my birthday.

  6. my friends are probably all concerned about me because i keep tweeting zombie-related stuff. like "sometimes i like to do zombie makeup on myself at one in the morning" or "i just got a craving to watch corpse bride." they were about ready to turn me in to the school counselor when i got into a zombie phase last fall and drew half-decayed people all the time. it seemed that the virus had become dormant...until now. {cue creepy "thriller" laughter}

    so here's one of my favorite songs from my latest playlist, inspired by monster high and zombies and my crazy thirst for brains desire for halloween to come. like, now.

    heads will roll ~ yeah yeah yeahs

  7. globe trotter.

    Monday, August 1

    so i have a little bit of a secret wish.

    i want to travel the world.
    i want to learn about different cultures and speak different languages and visit new countries and eat their food and buy their clothes and walk foreign streets wearing a scarf and a blazer and sit in european cafes and ride an elephant in india and eat pasta in italy and post pictures on this blog and make all of you americans jealous.

    but i'm sixteen and have no money so i watch house hunters international instead.

    my latest obscure-but-gorgeous-and-i-so-want-to-go-there country discovery is malta. it's a little island just south of italy that looks something like this:

    pretty, yeah? take me there. please.
